Third, an update on Laura and her progress for the fight to beat this Cancer! After two very in depth surgeries her incisions are healing and every day is progress. The lymph nodes in her neck have been removed in an aggressive attack to prevent the cancer from spreading. She is still as beautiful as ever and remains strong and very positive.
In a few weeks Laura will be traveling to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona from her home town of Fruita, Colorado for her chemo treatments beginning with her initial visit on January 26, 2012. She has asked that you just pray, pray, and pray some more and she thanks you ahead of time!
Feel free to post a note on this blog and lift Laura up in your words of encouragement! As she knows more the blog will be updated.
May God Bless each and everyone of you!
Laura's Story
- 'BELIEVE"
- In November 2011 a very loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, family member and a very dear friend to many people treated herself to a well deserved body massage. During this massage she learned that she had a spot on her upper shoulder blade that had her massage therapist alarmed. The therapist encouraged Laura to make herself an appointment with a doctor to have it evaluated. Without hesitation Laura went to the doctor and through many tests, it came back she had developed melanoma. In the past few weeks she has undergone some very intense and painful surgery to have not only the spot removed from her back but also the lymph nodes in her neck. Laura is a very strong, loving and caring woman of God. I visited her over Christmas and she asked only that people be aware of their own body and health. Having a second set of eyes in November prevented this cancer from spreading any further. WE BELIVE in the power of prayer and the strength of Laura's determination to pave this one forward! A benefit account has been set up at JP Chase Bank to help cover the costs of treatments, unexpected medical costs and/or other expenses needed while she is recovering.
